For the Driver Side, I connected directly near the fuse box for both front and rear connections In both Front and Rear, you'll want to run your cables to a good position along the door sill cables Remove Car Molding / Covers / Kick panel etc. I stuck the LED strips (13 inches) onto the crossbar starting from the side closest to the car door (this is where your cable will run), and slowly press the LED onto the crossbar following its curves. (in theory, you could just put a piece of paper and wrap it around the carpet edge to provide you with the sticky surface, while being held in place by the weight of the carpet itself.įor the REAR: I moved the car seats as far forward as possible, and accessed the crossbar (see video) from the back seat. Thus I used additional 3M Double Sided Tape, and plastic clips that I clipped into the carpet to give a better surface to stick on. The difficult part is to make the LED stick to the carpet (which you can't). as they might short via car body.įor the Front: I ran two 15 inch strip of LEDs these two were connected by a clip connector (mentioned above), which gave me just enough flexibility to bend it around and run the two parallel (to produce more light) If you cut the other end of the LED through the copper connector points, you may want to tape up the other end as well. E-tape / Heat Shrink wrap the connector Use as little as possible (I used too much on one of mine, and blew fuses 5 times before I figured out it was shorting at the solder) Strip and connect the other end of cable to your extension cable runs mentioned above Attach Connectors (make sure red goes to positive) Shave off extra plastic from LED (if you buy the water proof version) If you decide not to solder your LEDs, then use the LED clip connections linked above LEDs (linked above) has 3 LEDs per section, cut accordingly to be as close as possible to the desired length mentioned above Distance from the under seat LEDs to the Door Sill circuit wires you'll be tapping into (I ran 4 feet on both sides, but cut off some on the passenger side) Distance under the driver / passenger seat to run your LEDS (13 inches) Distance from the front foot well LED position to the Door Sill circuit wires you'll be tapping into (Under 2 feet, but I like to have extra slack) Distance in the front foot well you want to run your LEDS (I ran about 15 inches) otherwise do your own setup and hook into your own ambient lights. In any case, if you have the 2013 or higher model, read on. as I don't want to screw up my system again. I will try to find that elusive Pink Cable for the dome light for you 10 to 12ers. I cut some cables and crimped them back together, and it's still there) This circuit behaves exactly as the Dome Light (ON when doors unlocked, On when door Open, Fade Off quickly when doors lock, Fade Off slowly when doors closed)Īs noted in my video, I spent $400 at the dealer for a newbie mistake that blew a master fuse ($18 worth) and supposedly did some damage to wire harness which from what I can see they didn't replace (cause ya know. This is because in 2013, Honda added two connectors near the driver and passenger fuse boxes dedicated to the LED Door Sills. Solderless Wire Quick Splice Connector - 18-22 Gauge - 25 PackĪs noted before, some of this is specific to the Crosstour Models that are 2013 and up. *You will need 4 x 2-3 ft worth of cable for the FRONT LEDs, and 4 x 4 ft worth of cable for the REAR Grand General 55220 Black 18-Gauge Primary Wire ![]() *This is for people who don't want to or can't solder the connections themselves. (which is exactly the same setup as the OEM), and OMG it is so dark, you are basically wasting your money cause you can definitely NOT use that for show.Į-Goal 3528 Blue Waterproof LED Strip light With E-Goal Logo RibbonĮstone 10pcs Connector Adapter Cable LED PCB Strip 3528 to 3528 Single Color 8mm Free Welding so Yeah, if you like what you see, I highly recommend this little DIY.ģ.5) After doing this post, I just saw a YouTube video of the Ambient Light for the accord 8th gen. this isn't back in 95 after all.ģ) OEM Ambient Lighting does not extend to the rear section like this setup. but this is probably illegal in some states, and in poor taste in others) This way costs $20 if you already have tools, $30-50 if you have none of the tools.Ģ) OEM Ambient lighting has a switch (where I currently installed my Radar Mute Button) does NOT turn off with the map light / door sills (yes some people want to ride around with a blue glow. I know I skipped the How To for the front Ambient LED section but the theory and the work is exactly the same:ġ) OEM Ambient LED Lighting system (with an On/Off switch) costs $95 ![]() Those who have 2010-2012 must first tap the Maplight/Domelight, and I'll go into more detail later. NOTE: Some of this is Specific for the +2013 Model. How To: Install Ambient LED Lighting (Under Seat)
